Cartagena Guide uses affiliate links. This page explains what that means in plain English, so you can make informed decisions about what you click.

What affiliate links are

Some links on this site are "affiliate links." If you click one and make a purchase or booking on the destination site, Cartagena Guide may earn a small commission - at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go direct.

Examples of partners we may use:

We only use affiliate partners when we genuinely recommend what they offer. We don't add affiliate wrappers to every link.

How we disclose

Affiliate links are disclosed at the point of use - either inline near the link, or with a small note in the relevant section. Entire posts that are affiliate-heavy (like hotel or tour roundups) include a disclosure at the top. This site-wide page covers the rest.

What we won't do

Sponsored content

Separately from affiliate links, Cartagena Guide may publish sponsored content - paid placements that a business buys outright. These are clearly labeled "Sponsored" at the top of the relevant page or section. See our Advertise page for details. Editorial content is never influenced by advertisers or affiliate relationships.

Legal framing

This disclosure complies with the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines and Colombian consumer protection rules (Estatuto del Consumidor, Law 1480 of 2011). It applies to everyone who visits this site, regardless of their country.
